Data

Our Approach To Data

From staff members that hate the thought of data entry to others that find tracking and audits miserable--this is the bread and butter of an organization's ability to not only secure funding but maintain their accountability to both funders and clients. Without the collective ownership and commitment to data entry our organizations can lose out on both the necessary use of data but also the internal use of data.

Our  approach to data is to listen to front line staff and those working daily and their management; gathering the logic models and funder expectations for data; analyzing the evaluation framework (who and when the data is collected and where). From here, we sculpt a clear plan of what is needed in a database, and onboard staff a part of the work. When staff know that what is being expected to collect no more no less--there is less resistance to the collection. When staff are heard, involved in design of a data base, and also receive accommodations or opportunities to investigate further needs with the data they begin to own the data themselves and can see tangible outcomes for themselves.

Practical Applications

Database Assessment and Development
Careful review of stakeholder and grant needs and how they are captured within the database. This also includes strategy and some overlap with evaluation framework and logic model reviews.

Deliverables: cohesion between database and all frameworks, and audit development.

Data Analysis
Tailored tools—surveys, interviews, or tracking templates—that capture both outputs and outcomes. Each tool is grounded in your logic model and designed for real-world use.
Deliverables: finalized tools, testing, and guidance for implementation.

Logic Model Development
A concise map of how your programs create change. Together we define inputs, activities, outputs, and outcomes to guide strategy, communication, and funding alignment.
Deliverables: completed logic model, visual summary, and recommendations.
